We can’t have a universal healthcare system that doesn’t meet the needs of the health workers expected to provide care within it. The June 1st Healthcare Huddle is focused on healthcare professionals in Washington State, but open to anyone interested in attending. We’ll share some information about Whole Washington, the Washington Health Trust, and our strategy to WIN comprehensive universal healthcare here in Washington #ByBillOrByBallot as well as several ways to take action in the state-based and national efforts around improved, expanded Medicare For All. Defend Public Health will be holding a General Assembly zoom meeting for our membership on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm ET titled: 45 years of HIV/AIDS: Activism, Organizing, and Building a Public Health Response. Now What? The session will include a panel of activists discussing the early years of AIDS activism and organizing, addressing HIV/AIDS among communities of color, challenges of developing systems of prevention and care at state/local public health levels and personal perspectives of people living with HIV.
